Dr. Tcheupdjian has been interested in the adipose (fat) cell since before his graduation from Northwestern University Medical School in 1971, but his life changing experience occurred 1978 when he first learned about liposuction procedure while at a conference in France. After several years of learning and perfecting the techniques of liposculpture under the guidance of the procedure’s originators France in early 1981, he decided to dedicate himself full-time to the art and science of liposuction. Shortly thereafter, under the guidance of Dr. Pierre Fournier of Paris, Dr. Tcheupdjian mastered the art of fat transfer by re-injecting the extracted fat cells with a blunt needle, primarily into the extremities to correct defects, deformities and asymmetries. The practice expanded to include the face, body and genitals, primarily penile enhancement. Dr. Tcheupdjian is among the very first pioneers of liposuction and fat transfer in the world.
