Photo Facial: FotoFacial, LimeLight IPL Treatment

What is a PhotoFacial?

A PhotoFacial, also known as “Intense Pulse Light” or just IPL, is a non-invasive treatment where a trained medical professional will use a specially formulated machine to deliver pulses of intense light (not a laser) to the dermal layer. The intense light energy stimulates the growth of new collagen and new blood vessels beneath the epidermis. Fresh new cells are created by the healing process.

What will an IPL treatment effectively treat?

IPL treatments can effectively treat the following:

  • Fine lines
  • Signs of aging
  • Shallow acne scars
  • Age spots
  • Sun Spots
  • Broken blood vessels
  • Rosacea
  • Large, unsightly pores
  • Facial redness
  • Other skin blemishes

How many IPL treatments will you need?

We recommend a package of six treatments, normally spaced about a month apart.

What will the IPL treatment feel like?

Most patients experience only mild discomfort. Many patients tell us it feels like a rubber band snapping onto the skin. The sensation is tolerable. In some cases, we will use a gentle anesthetic cream to help aid the discomfort.

Is there any downtime associated with the IPL treatment?

Mild redness may remain for up to 24 hours following treatment, but any sign of treatment will then be gone.
