Frequently Asked Questions
What is a canthoplasty?
A canthoplasty is a type of eye lift that promotes a lasting result of almond-shaped eyes by lengthening the eye opening and lifting the outer corner. The end result is a shaped, sexy look. In our office, we accomplish this in a minimally invasive fashion using European threads, which are placed beneath the skin and gently pull and lift the skin in the desired direction.

How does the cat eyes lift work?
We use European aesthetic threading to accomplish this upward lifting. Our medical providers will make a miniscule incision, and place the threads beneath the dermal layer. The threads then “catch” the skin and your provider will gently tug on the thread and set it so it gives your eyes the desired look. We’ll work mainly in the area where the two eyelids meet, commonly known as the canthus.
Can Botox enhance the results of a cat eyes lift?
Botox can definitely enhance the look of your cat eyes lift. In fact, we highly recommend a Botox treatment any time a patient opts for a cat eyes lift. Botox will contribute two key, complimentary ways: 1) it will relax the crow’s feet region of the eyes and, and 2) it will relax the antagonistic pull of the forehead muscles and eliminate the crowding of the muscles, hence achieving the youthful, open eyes look.
Does the cat eyes lift hurt?
The patient will feel some minor discomfort in the days following the procedure, but this pales in comparison to a full blepharoplasty (eye lift). This gentle procedure gives patients the opportunity to return to a normal way of life only a couple of days after the procedure. Expect some common swelling and bruising for a couple of days following the procedure. During the procedure, we’ll use a local anesthetic to keep the discomfort minimal. Most patients don’t feel any pain at all during the actual procedure.
How long do the results last?
In most cases, the results will last upwards of a couple years. On average, expect the results to last anywhere between 18 and 24 months.
What happens to the threads?
The threads are made from organic suture materials that dissolve over time.
What does the cat eyes lift cost?
This depends on a few factors, like desired level of lifting, which in turn affects the number of threads required, but most patients should expect the fee to be between $1500 and $2000.
