Many patients are happy with the size of their breasts but would prefer a slightly higher, firmer, and more refined shape. A PDO thread breast lift offers a minimally invasive way to create that subtle change without the incisions used for traditional breast lift surgery.
Fine, absorbable threads are placed beneath the skin to gently support the breast tissue. They create an initial lift while encouraging new collagen that may gradually improve the skin’s firmness. For a patient with mild to moderate sagging and limited excess skin, treatment may:
- Gently elevate the breast contour
- Refine mild differences in shape or position
- Create a firmer, smoother-looking appearance
- Soften fine lines or crepey skin on the upper breast
A PDO breast lift works with the breast tissue you already have. It may create the appearance of greater upper-breast fullness by lifting existing tissue, but it does not increase cup size, remove a large amount of loose skin, or provide the extensive reshaping possible with surgery. Patients who want more volume may be better suited to breast augmentation or fat injection breast augmentation.
At Liposuction and Cosmetic Surgery Institute, we consider our patients’ proportions, skin quality, breast weight, and goals before recommending PDO threads or another approach.
Is a PDO Breast Lift Right for You?
Beyond the amount of sagging present, candidacy for this procedure depends on your skin elasticity, breast weight, overall health, and expectations for a temporary result. PDO thread breast lifts are generally best considered when your weight is stable, and you are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a major body change that could alter the breast contour.
Threads may be too subtle when the breasts are heavier, sagging is more advanced, or the nipples sit well below the breast crease. In those cases, a surgical breast lift can remove excess skin, reshape the breasts, and reposition the nipples and areolas when needed.
During your private consultation, we will review your health history, medications, previous breast procedures, routine breast screening, and aesthetic goals before recommending treatment.
