Microaire Lipo, Power Assisted Lipo, Air Liposuction

Power Assisted Lipo (also known as PAL Lipo for short) is one of the best options for permanent fat removal, with precise sculpting, in Chicago, Arlington Heights, Oak Brook, Naperville and the surrounding suburbs. If you have areas of the body that do not respond well to diet and exercise, do not worry. PAL Lipo can be a great option for you to achieve a sculpted, sleeker body. See below for some answers to frequently asked questions about PAL Lipo using the Microaire system.

Microaire Power Assisted Liposuction

What is Microaire Power Assisted Liposuction?

Microaire power assisted liposuction, or PAL, is a state-of-the-art fat reduction treatment. Think of the liposuction instrument as a chisel that sculpts the body. But now imagine the tip vibrates rapidly, about 2 millimeters forward and backwards, 4000 times per minute. Imagine what Michael Angelo could have done with a power-assisted chisel like that. We consider traditional liposuction procedures as out-dated technologies. These procedures have several drawbacks. They may require patients to receive general anesthesia, spend longer amounts of time on the operating table and deal with a lengthy recovery process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the advantages of Microaire Liposculpture?

Microaire PAL uses a power-assisted cannula to provide a significant improvement over traditional liposuction technology. This cannula works by vibrating in a gentle, steady manner. These vibrations break up your fat cells and make it easier for the surgeon and the cannula to permanently suck out the fat cells. The cannula moves through your tissues quickly and smoothly. This allows doctors to remove your fat without harming the surrounding tissues. This device is also easier for doctors to use, which allows them to be more precise during your procedure. Take a look at the following advantages, in list form:

  • Precision Precision. It allows us to work with higher level of precision
  • Faster recovery with less swelling
  • Great for fat harvesting for autologous fat transplantation to other body parts as in to face, breasts or buttocks
  • Excellent for Hi-definition liposculpture
  • No need for general anesthesia
  • Gentler and more comfortable
  • Optimal results

If you haven’t been able to reduce your fat by exercising regularly with constant and relentless dieting, don’t worry, you are not alone. As a result of genetic and metabolic reasons, of no fault of your own, many people aren’t able to alter their bodies through lifestyle changes alone.

The unique behavior of fat cells or adipose tissue cells or “adipocytes” may explain why so many people can’t reduce their fat. You are born with a predetermined number of cells. Fair or not it is genetically ingrained, you inherit from either of you parents. At the time just before puberty your hormones call for more fat cells, in an effort to store the hormones inside your fat tissue that acts as the peripheral hormone depot. Hormones unlock the gene that keeps pre-adipocytes sleeping. Now pre-adipocytes are awakened and mature into adult adipocytes, which causes the total distribution of your fat cells to increase rapidly. From this day forward the total number of fat cells are constant. Each fat cell can get up to hundred times larger and shrink as you gain and lose weight.

So if you lose 100 pounds how many fat cells you lost? The answer is zero. The fat cells only shrink but they never go away.

These are some of the many questions I am asked during my consultation. Here is the short version

  • Genetics. Your genetics can also increase their chances of developing unwanted fat deposits.
  • Metabolism. Your metabolism varies with each season and declines with each passing year.
  • Hormonal
  • Menopause
  • Insulin, more precisely insulin resistance.
  • Gut bacteria, your microbiome

These are just a few of the long list of reasons that many people may be more likely to experience these fat deposits as they age. In particular, female and male menopause can make weight loss and fat reduction near impossible for many. Just remember you are not alone.

You can slowly reduce your total body weight by exercising and eating less. That said, you can’t reduce fat in particular areas, such as thighs or stomachs. This can be very frustrating. “Spot reduction” exercises are almost impossible. Only liposuction can successfully target fatty areas of the body, and Microaire PAL lipo can help with the precision of the procedure.

  • Abdomen
  • Saddlebags
  • Hips
  • Thighs
  • Love handles
  • Arms
  • Back
  • Neck
  • Chin
  • Large fatty tumors or Lipomas and many other body parts where fat is in excess under the skin.

Note that lipo of any kind will not remove intra-abdominal fat (Fat inside the abdominal cavity, around your intestines nor inside your liver)

Note also that Microaire PAL lipo is a great treatment for both women and men

Another great aspect of Microaire PAL lipo is it allows for options:

  • Local lidocaine anesthesia injection with a sedative tablet, such as Valium or Xanex to relax you, in conjunction with a pain medication.
  • Pronox (AKA laughing gas). You breathe in a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide for pain reduction only; it does not put you to sleep.
  • Intravenous anesthesia, also known as twilight anesthesia
  • General anesthesia

With traditional liposuction procedures,” Dr. T says, “we usually select general anesthesia as the anesthesia of choice. When we first began performing liposuction we used thicker cannulas, but with time and experience, we realized that the thicker cannula was actually a hindrance and made precise sculpting harder to achieve. Moreover, it was traumatic and contributed to increased bruising and increased post-surgical pain and recovery. Now we use the thinnest possible canullas for precise aesthetic liposculpture.

Yes always. Tumescent lipo is also sometimes referred to as “Water Lipo.” It is the injection of a large amount of saline (0.9% saltwater), mixed with a precisely calculated amount of lidocaine and epinephrine. Depending on your body weight, the goal of the procedure is:

  • Hydro dissection
  • Numbing
  • Minimize bruising
  • Prevent bleeding
  • Prevent infection
  • Prevent blood clots
