Skin can begin to look softer, looser, or less defined as collagen declines with age. Pregnancy, weight changes, sun exposure, and genetics may make those changes more noticeable on the face or body. When you want a firmer, smoother appearance but are not ready for a traditional lift, non-surgical skin tightening may offer a more graceful way forward.
These treatments use controlled energy to warm selected layers beneath the surface, encouraging collagen renewal and a gradual improvement in firmness. Depending on your skin and the area being treated, these non-surgical treatments may help:
- Soften early jowling or reduced jawline definition
- Improve mild laxity on the face and neck
- Smooth crepey skin on the neck or upper chest
- Firm loose skin on the abdomen, arms, thighs, or knees
- Refine fine lines and uneven texture
At Liposuction and Cosmetic Surgery Institute, we offer several skin tightening treatments for different areas, tissue depths, and degrees of laxity. Options range from completely non-invasive treatments such as XERF and Ultherapy to RF microneedling and minimally invasive procedures for patients who need a more intensive approach.
LCSI considers the source of the concern, the quality of your skin, your desired result, and your preferred recovery before recommending a non-surgical skin tightening treatment for you.
What Does “Non-Surgical” Really Mean?
The term “non-surgical” covers several types of treatment. However, non-surgical does not always mean completely non-invasive.
A non-invasive skin tightening treatment works entirely from the surface, without needles, entry points, or incisions. XERF and Ultherapy fall into this category. Patients can generally return to their usual routine quickly, although temporary redness, warmth, swelling, or tenderness may occur.
Minimally invasive skin tightening treatments use microneedles or a slender probe to reach tissue beneath the skin. Working closer to the targeted layer may offer a different degree of treatment, but it also changes the preparation, recovery, and potential risks.
LCSI explains these differences clearly during your consultation so you understand both what a treatment may accomplish and what the experience will involve.
