The Genius features an improved needle tip design, new motor, increased accuracy of depth and penetration, and smart technology that measures tissue impedance to allow more control over the energy delivered. This results in minimal discomfort and maximal results. Actually Genius is one of the only treatments that generates not only collagen, but elastin as well, which promotes thicker, tighter and smoother skin. The SecretRF tips penetrate the skin at variable depths to provide ultimate treatment customization.

This is a genuine concern with many cosmetic modalities. However, since the needles are insulated it only allows the RF energy to target the deeper dermis, bypassing the melanocytes (the particles that give our skin different shades of color) of the epidermis. Thus, the risk of discoloration is immensely reduced. In conjunction with our pre-and-post-procedure skin regimen protocol, we have not experienced an issue to date with skin discoloration.

We may use a topical anesthetic to ease the discomfort, which may be reduced to only tiny pin pricks. Some of our patients prefer to take an NSAID like ibuprofen and Tylenol, while others prefer PRO-NOX™, which is an oxygen and nitric oxide (laughing gas) pain management system controlled by the patient. The laughing gas in Pronox takes effect in seconds, offering immediate relief of pain and anxiety.

Expect the procedure to take 45 minutes to an hour.

This ultimately depends on your condition, your goals and your desires, but we recommend a minimum of three sessions spaced about a month apart.

We tell patients to expect full results a couple weeks after the last treatment in the series.

This really depends on the desired outcome of the procedure. For example, active acne patients will notice that acne breakouts are prevented for a considerable time after completing a treatment cycle. If we’re treating aging skin and skin laxity, a full treatment cycle of three treatments and an annual maintenance treatment sustain lasting results.
