Neck liposuction is a permanent treatment for removal of excess fat in the neck, also known as the “turkey neck” and/or the double chin. Removal of fat from the neck and chin is accomplished by various liposuction methods under local or sedation anesthesia.

The cost can vary, but expect it to be between $2500 and $5000. Affordable financing is available. What exactly gets done during the procedure?

Answer

Before surgery and after your neck and chin is photographed. You are given a relaxant. The neck chin markings are drawn with a marking pen, and you are lead to the operating room. A local anesthesia is injected to numb the neck, and a tiny access point is created hidden below the chin. A tiny cannula (thin hollow tube) is used to inject saline (salt water) with epinephrine to constrict blood vessels. After a few minutes a specially designed neck cannula, the “Leon Neck ™”, which is a spatula shaped, thin 2-mm liposuction cannula (specially designed and copyrighted By Dr. Leon Tcheupdjian MD 1986) is inserted. Assisted with gentle suction, the neck fat is gently and permanently suctioned out to give dramatic neck definition results.

Rest with little or no exertion. Sleep with the head elevated for the first night. No aspirin or smoking is allowed. You may have a head wrap or an elastic headband to wear the first night. The next morning, in the shower you can remove all head wraps or bandages. The elastic chin strap needs to be worn only at night in bed and for optimal results should be worn at bedtime for two weeks.
