VASER Liposculpture is known by several names, including:
Hi-Def 4D VASER Liposuction, high definition liposuction, ultrasound-assisted Liposuction, VASER Lipoplasty, VASER lipolysis, which are all offered by the Liposuction and Cosmetic Surgery Institute of Chicago and its suburban offices in Oak Brook, Arlington Heights and Naperville. VASER Liposuction is an ultrasound-assisted technique.
After the injection of tumescent fluid, (which is composed of saline and epinephrine) into the fatty tissues, a thin multi-ringed probe that transmits low level ultrasonic oscillating energy is inserted through a tiny skin incision. The ultrasonic energy heats the fluid around it, creating tiny but expanding bubbles that burst, releasing cavitation energy that shakes the fat cells from their attachments causing them to melt and emulsify into liquid form. The liquefied fat cells are then suctioned away by small diameter cannulas. Because the cells have reached liquid from, the suctioning is achieved with minimal trauma to the surrounding tissues and virtually no bleeding.
