AGNES

The AGNES treatment provider introduces the oscillating needles into the dermis where the fine lines and wrinkles are evident. The radiofrequency energy provides heat and radiofrequency waves to the treatment area, which together stimulate collagen remodelling and production of new, healthy skin tissue. The end result is rejuvenated, youthful looking skin.

The AGNES treatment can successfully treat those pesky fatty deposits in and around the face, including the double chin, jowls, cheeks and under-eye bags. The heat and radiofrequency treatments effectively erupt stubborn fat cells, destroying them permanently. The added benefit of this fat reduction treatment is the stimulation of new collagen, which leads to restored skin elasticity and rejuvenated looking skin.

Topical anesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area in an effort to reduce discomfort during the procedure. The skin should be cleansed and patted dry prior to commencing treatment. The treatment provider will then select the proper microneedle for the correct skin type, treatment type and severity of the treated area. The microneedles are then inserted repeatedly into the treatment area, which allows the radiofrequency energy and the heat to disperse throughout the treated area. The patient will experience some mild, but manageable discomfort.

Most AGNES treatments take between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Most AGNES patients find that they need two or three treatments for optimal results, depending on the severity of the issue. These treatments are usually spaced four to six weeks apart. Some patients may need yearly or bi-yearly maintenance treatments thereafter. Each patient responds differently.

Again, many patients will need up to three treatments for a full result. Acne patients will have near-permanent results, since the energy is literally destroying the glands that create the acne in the first place. For skin tightening and fat reduction patients, they may find that they need yearly or biyearly maintenance treatments.

For the first couple weeks, the treated area may actually look worse than prior to the treatment. Patients should know and understand that this is completely normal. This cannot be stressed enough. Remember that your skin needs time to rebuild the underlying structure and stimulate the growth of new collagen. Patients should begin to see results a few weeks after treatment, but patients should understand that this isn’t the finality of the treatment. Restructuring and collagen growth will continue up until around 6 months after the final treatment.

Downtime should be minimal. Some patients experience mild redness for a couple days post-treatment. More intense, deeper treatments may yield mild redness and swelling for up to a week. However, this can be treated at home with ice packs for 20 minutes at a time throughout the day. Patients should take special care to make sure any surface touching their faces is free of bacteria or other germs that could cause infection.
