Liposuction and liposculpture of the arms

Liposuction is probably the most common, quick, affordable, safe and preferred method of eliminating excessive fat in the arm, especially in the lower hanging part the arms. Women in our office refer to the low hanging skin on their arms as their “wings”. This fatty area overlies the triceps muscle and houses the bulk of the resistant fat contained in human arms. The rest of the fat sits laterally superiorly over the biceps muscle.

Many of our patients during the past three decades have complained that no matter how hard they tried to lose weight, the fat in the under surface of the arm area seems to be resistant to weight loss. “My mom also had huge arms but she was not overweight,” is something we commonly hear. There seems to be a dis-proportionality between arm fat and fat in the rest of the body, including the torso.

Vaser Liposuction – Also known as hi-def liposuction or 4D liposuction, of the arms

These are all coined terms defining a procedure that utilizes VASER ultrasonic energy to melt far away and achieve internal skin tightening. The VASER uses extreme precision sculpting to achieve muscular definition and redefine the contour of the arms in a precise fashion. Conventional liposuction can not even begin to touch the amount of precision seen with VASER liposuction.

LASER Liposuction of the arms

Laser liposuction is a newer form of liposuction. Lasers melt fat away, thus facilitating the process of fat removal. There are many types of lasers, as well as different manufacturers, but basically they all achieve the same end point. The laser heats the fat in the body an emulsifies it prior to suction. This is not a standalone replacement of traditional liposuction, but only an adjunctive tool that can enhance results. No matter what type of tool is being used, the ultimate result depends on the skill and experience of the surgeon. Think of it from a musical standpoint. Anyone could go out and purchase the best instruments money can buy, but the more experienced the musician, the better those instruments will sound.
