Butt Thread Lift

What is a butt thread lift?

A butt thread lift is a modern alternative to the surgical butt lift, eliminating the need for risky surgeries with unpredictable and unstable implants or fat transferred to the buttocks (risky side effects and fat that may shift after injected).

Threads are placed along the length of the buttocks in the subcutaneous tissue, which elevate the buttocks, and provide a perkier, more rounded look, Also, in some patients, the legs look longer and the body is better proportioned. Buttock enhancement has been popular for decades, especially in South America and large sectors of Europe. In fact, buttock enhancement has become so popular in South America that the procedure is commonly known as a “Brazilian Butt Lift” all over the world. For decades we’ve been limited to risky surgeries, unreliable implants and injections that take multiple sessions and several visits spread out over several months.

Enter the butt thread lift, which enhances the visual appearance of the buttocks in one visit, with results that last up to a year.

The advent of PDO and PLA threadLifting that not only lifts the buttocks but also gradually and naturally enhances the skin and the deep tissues collagen and elastin production inside the buttocks. These threads not only move fthe procedure from the risky and costly operating room to the safe and affordable simple in-office environment. But we don’t stop there, we combine the bio-stimulation effect of Sculptra PLLA “Poly L-Lactic Acid ” injections to provide even more contoured enhancement of the buttocks. Frequently Asked Questions

What makes up the threads used in a butt thread lift?

PDO are polydioxanone surgical sutures cleared by the FDA for use in skin tightening and redefining the contours of your skin and tissues.
PLLA Poly-L-lactic acid is a synthetic, biocompatible and safe and biodegradable material used in soft-tissue augmentation.

What is a Sculptra injection and why is it a good complimentary treatment for a butt thread lift?

Sculptra is a safe dermal filler injectable made out of poly-L-lactic acid, which bio-stimulates and activates your skin’s natural power to regenerate your own collagen and elastin. This process promotes a more youthful appearance of your skin and tissue. So, the threads actively lift tissue, while the Sculptra injections provide the rounded volume that most butt enhancement patients long for.

How is the butt thread lift procedure done?

First, we apply a topical anesthetic, which keeps the treated area numb for between one and two hours. Next, the area is disinfected and markings are made, which act as guidelines for thread placement. “The target is to achieve a posterior projection and lift”, Leslie Forrester, APRN, our medical spa director and thread specialist says. During the treatment, tiny, dissolvable threads are inserted into the skin and pulled tight in order to lift and augment the underlying tissue.

What types of threads are used during a butt thread lift?

There are two types of threads used. Larger, lifting threads are anchored into the skin and used to lift and reposition the skin. These are coupled with smaller threads that stimulate collagen production, resulting in smoother skin and improved laxity. The former are typically used in a vertical direction, from the top of the butt, while the latter are cross-woven into a mesh pattern. Broadly speaking, a thread butt lift can lift the buttocks, improve the contour, and to a certain extent even diminish the look of cellulite with proper technique.

How long does the procedure last?

Typically, expect the treatment to take about one hour in total, including the time it takes to numb the treatment area.

Is there any downtime associated with the butt thread lift?

After resting the evening of the procedure you may return to work the next day. Regular physical activity can resume when you feel up to it, or at the direction of your treating provider.

Who is a good candidate for a thread butt enhancement?

Patient selection can be crucial for an optimal result. The patient, in most cases, should be in good physical shape, not overweight, and has acceptable muscle tone.

How long do these results last?

Most practitioners agree that the lifting effect is immediate and lasts anywhere from six to nine months. However the collagen and elastin stimulating effects take about a month to kick in but may be a year and beyond .

What kind of results can you expect?

Butt enhancement with threads and sculptra addresses global improvement of the buttocks, not only size and shape, but also the skin quality. Buttock shape improvement in all dimensions, vertical, horizontal and diagonal vectors of the buttocks. plus tightening the loose sagging skin below the buttocks (known as the banana), can also be expected to a reasonable degree. The collagen-stimulating effects of the smooter PLLA threads make skin generally appear plumper and tighter. We see improvement in the appearance of cellulite and even stretch marks. As the threads dissolve and disintegrate in the body they induce a potent blood vessel dilator nitric oxide. This enhanced blood circulation enriches the skin with new collagen and elastin deposition in the skin, resulting in healthier younger skin glow. In some people, depending on genetics and initial skin quality, the enhancement may be subtle.

What are the side effects or risks of a thread butt lift?

The threads themselves are very safe, but like any cosmetic procedure, the incidence of risks of butt thread lift, even though very rare, may include temporary bruising, minor swelling and soreness, as well as a feeling of skin tightness. To date we have never experienced any serious side effects nor any allergic reactions. Like anything else, side effects can vary depending on the patient, medical history and/or the proficiency of the provider.

What are the key benefits of a butt thread lift?

A buttocks thread lift is a simpler alternative to major buttock implant or fat grafting surgery to reshape and lift the buttocks. The main advantages of this method are as follows:

  • No downtime. You may resume your normal daily activities without restrictions (although provider may provide specific instructions)
  • No general anesthesia and no hospitalization required
  • No scarring
  • Immediate result
  • Less expensive than conventional surgery

Its disadvantages are as follows:

  • It is not a replacement for buttock augmentation, and it doesn’t increase the size of the buttocks significantly
  • The result is not permanent. Results last between six and 12 months, although because of genetics and metabolism this can vary between individuals.

What is the post-care of a butt thread lift?

Avoidance of touching and contaminating the buttock area with uncleansed hands. Practicing healthy hygiene is all it takes.

How much does a butt thread lift cost?

The butt thread lift starts at $1500. Final cost can vary, depending on the scope of the procedure.
