Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS CELLULAZE?

Dr. Leon Forrester Tcheupdjian, M.D. is proud to bring Cellulaze, the only minimally invasive laser cellulite treatment, to his Chicago, Arlington Heights, Oak Brook and Naperville locations. Patients at each of our four Chicagoland offices will have access to this exciting new cellulite treatment, which utilizes a laser to attack the fibrous material under the skin layer that is responsible for the creation of cellulite.

WHERE DOES CELLULITE COME FROM AND HOW CAN CELLULAZE GET RID OF CELLULITE?

A series of fibrous bands form inside your dermal layer. As these bands become more taught with age, they pull down the skin and form dimples atop the skin layer, which we commonly call cellulite. Your doctor will insert a tiny cannula (a tube about the size of the tip of a pen) beneath your skin. This cannula delivers energy to your dermal layer and expands the skin layer, in the process snapping the fibrous bands that create the cellulite on the surface of the skin. The energy delivered by the laser also works to destroy the lumpy pockets of fat that make up the fibrous bands, thereby minimizing future development of the fibrous bands that create cellulite.

WHAT WILL THE CELLULAZE TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

A mild sensation with light pressure is common, but because your doctor will use a local anesthetic, the treatment is virtually painless. For a few days post treatment, you may feel some slight aching, much like after an intense workout.

HOW MANY CELLULAZE TREATMENTS ARE NECESSARY AND HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?

Unlike all other cellulite treatments, you’ll only need one Cellulaze treatment to see significant results. Additionally, you’ll continue to see results several months after the procedure. When combined with a healthy diet and exercise program, the creators of the Cellulaze procedure promote lasting results of more than one year.

DOES CELLULAZE REALLY WORK?

Of course! Dr. Leon Forrester Tcheupdjian, M.D. prides himself on offering his patients the best, most true tested products and procedures on the market. Cynosure, the company that developed Cellulaze, performed far reaching clinical studies to find the lasting effects of the Cellulaze procedure. These studies found that the treatment increased the thickness of the skin by 25% and the elasticity of the skin by 29%. No other cellulite treatment can make these claims. Additionally, 93% of the patients surveyed one year post treatment were either “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with their results. Of those 93% of patients, all said they would recommend the treatment to their friends.
