Renuvion by J-Plasma

Renuvion, Powered by J-Plasma, in Chicago – Skin Tightening and Body Contouring

Renuvion, also known as J-Plasma liposuction, is a revolutionary skin tightening treatment that can be combined with liposuction and other traditional body contouring procedures or can be performed on is own. Unlike other superficial radio-frequency skin tightening treatments, Renuvion J-Plasma condenses helium gas energy into a plasma beam that contracts the fibers that make up the collagen and elastin in the below the surface of the skin. This stimulates tightening and retraction of previously loose skin. The treatment is intended to correct loose-hanging skin and restore a youthful look.

How is Renuvion, powered by J-Plasma, done?

The Renuvion treatment typically follows a liposuction procedure. A long, thin probe is introduced under the skin through the tiny incision already made for the liposuction cannula. Once the provider initiates the energy source, a flowing beam of J-plasma helium gas travels down the probe and is concentrated on the inner fibers of the skin, including collagen and elastin. The radio-frequency current flowing through helium gas beam creates a plasma that is attracted to the collagen and elastin of the skin and the underlying deep subcutaneous tissue.

Who is a good candidate and who can benefit from Renuvion, by J-Plasma?

Those who have lost weight and now have excess, sagging skin as a result of the weight loss are perfect candidates for Renuvion. Also, mothers who have post-pregnancy, have excess abdominal skin and are looking for a mommy makeover are great candidates. And although Renuvion is not a replacement procedure for a tummy tuck, some patients who may need a tummy tuck but are wary of the scarring can see great results from Renuvion.

What type of incision is used to introduce the Renuvion probe?

The incisions are a ½ inch or shorter and are hidden in the body’s natural creases, under the chin in case of the neck j-plasma or behind the ear lobes.

Is the procedure safe?

Yes, since the J-Plasma/Renuvion technology utilizes a helium ionization process to produce a cold and focused beam of helium plasma, it allows the provider to deliver energy safely and with amazingly accurate precision.

What is the downtime typically associated with Renuvion?

Typically, only about one day of downtime is expected. Most patients resume normal activities in about one-to-two days.

Who is not a candidate for Renuvion?

Those who are on blood thinners, pregnant or breastfeeding are not good candidates. In other cases, the provider may request surgical clearance prior to the procedure.

What are some of the risks associated with Renuvion?

The risks associated with this procedure are rare but include asymmetric healing, irregular skin appearance and transient numbness, temporary bruising, swelling, and mild discomfort. In extremely rare cases, an infection can occur.

Do you need to lose weight before starting treatment?

No, but a post-surgical healthy and active lifestyle is strongly encouraged for maximizing results.
